The parent app is broken up into Assignments, Calendar, Progress, Limitations, and Chat. The Assignments section is organized by class subject. The Calendar section has both a calendar view, and list view that organize the assignments by due date. Progress shows the parent an overall progress for their child’s assignments, as well as a graph on their child’s media usage. Limitations allows the parents to limit their child’s site access. Chat allows the parent to chat with their child.
Most likely, a parent has more than one child. How can we make it easy to navigate between children, and have it easy for the parent to know WHICH child they are under? My solution was a scrollable nav at the top that displays both a picture of the child, as well as their name. The other siblings become greyed out so the parent knows which one is active.
These are some of the original wires I made for the parent app.
Since the children are not going to limit their own sites, and view their own media usage, the child interface has only three tabs, Assignments, Calendar, and Chat.
